Semester 4 Week 9

Well converting to online for the rest of the year is… interesting. First off heard back from Knox and got the first few lines and they are pretty great! Wasn’t the impression I was expecting, but all of his voice work is too good not to like. This week I cut up his lines in Protools and put the lines into FMod to test out in game. For Sunday night I had my studio group come together to finish up their checkpointed goals to be able to test the audio to know if we need to make any changes or if we are clear to keep pushing forward. Attendance for that was shakey as everyone had dinner at different times however, it turned out well! I was able to connect my FMod work into Noah’s progression script so that the audio triggers after certain steps are completed.

For the character class I pitched an idea to be able to build a series of Lego models in Stud.io 2 and retopologize them to be game/animation quality, but for my purpose I am going to create my own vignette or scene and aim for a Lego Movie still quality. Hopefully the 3D bricks can save my limited of modeling ability and hopefully it will be fun to learn and do some lighting work. I hope to use Unreal for its heavier graphics performance, but I may use Unity if there are any use difficulties or time limitations. I would like carry these skills over for a specialized portfolio piece for TT Games and potentially for the YouTube channel I would like to start.

I also made quite a bit of progress on my defense writing and extended the project decision section of my paper after following some of the guidance the defense outline was able to provide.
