Semester 4 Week 7
Still behind on many things as life decided to give me one more week of hiccups just in time for spring break. My car is now functional and I plan to kick my studio into high gear when we return as time is desperately running out. I got a squeaks worth of work out of everyone just before break, so I at least know a few people are actually doing work but also not nearly as much as they’ve been talking it up to be. I’m hoping I can breeze through some of the defense writing and the rest of the paper to be able to just hunker down on the project and maybe stress over or enjoy what is happening with the morning class.
I am very confused where the character class is going as I saw an undated assignment to pitch a completely different direction per student as we had no real choice of electives. Something about the spring air this week sparked my motivation for a project I wanted to start after graduation and I’m hoping this pitch for that class can have a good tie in. I guess this is where I should explain the project…
I’ve been wanting to start a YouTube channel focused on Lego to bring new perspectives with discussion, inspiration, and overall fun. A lot of the Lego YouTube community focuses on what Lego releases relaying any early news and critiquing or complaining about various aspects. I want to make a more creative channel by designing mock ups of sets that would make sense on both consumer and retailer sides focusing on primarily video game themes, discussing where Lego’s stance on video games is, and brainstorming how Lego can possibly tie-in more interactive media into their products. To tie it back to the class now, I was looking to see if I can take a series of Lego models from Stud.io to make them game ready as they are loaded with polygons as I unfortunately discovered last year.
