Concept: “Audio Bricks”
Brief
A curtained booth with enough space for one and a small table rests in a larger space. The table consists of cut out trays filled with Lego parts on the left and right and a clear baseplate in the center with color and light sensors underneath and above the building station. Each color brick represents different instrumental loops, the placement on the base plate determines their perceived played location in the builders headphones and the space outside the booth, and the height determines the volume.
Interaction
The interaction of connecting three dimensional objects to create a larger 3 dimensional sound I thought was a strange and interesting idea. Also the idea of the physical self-made art (hard work) is hidden from the crowd, but the abstract byproduct is what everyone else can experience (with tougher appreciation because of the ambient rather than instrumental audio).
